Ninth place for Richard Verschoor at Monza
After he wasn’t able to finish after a technical issue during saturday’s race at Monza KNAF Talent First Driver Richard Verschoor was extra motivated to bring home important points for the championship during the second race at the famous Italian circuit. His qualification went well. After a quick lap he finished with the third time in his group which made him start from the sixth position for the race.
Richard fought several battles during a very chaotic race. He lost some places at the beginning of the race but was able to win back a few places a few laps later. The second half of the race was a tough one for the young Dutch driver. Driving in sixth place he had to avoid some other drivers which cost him a lot of time and places. At the end of the race Verschoor had to settle with a tenth place. After the race another driver received a time penalty and Richard went up a place in the rankings becoming ninth overall.
“The qualifications were ok but I could have done better. During my fast lap there was a lot of traffic on track which made me lose some important time. I made some bad decisions during the second race and some other drivers made small mistakes which cost me time and places. The speed wasn’t there and overall this wasn’t a good weekend for me,” said Richard Verschoor after the race.
The action packed race was finally won by Christian Lundgaard.
After this race Richard Verschoor holds the fifteenth place on the championship with six championship points. The next event of the Formula Renault Eurocup is held at the famous Silverstone Circuit in the United Kingdom. (19-20 may 2018)
